It can display a reporting facility and a current custody event for a matched person, then offer notification choices tied to that record. Pawnee participation should be confirmed on the live result rather than assumed from a county name alone.
VINE does not cover residents of the Kansas Department of Corrections. That boundary is crucial in Larned, where the county jail and Larned State Correctional Facility are separate institutions. A person in Pawnee County Jail may have a VINE record. A person at LSCF should be checked through KASPER. Juvenile, federal, and immigration custody also require other channels. A missing VINE result is therefore not proof of release.

Do not equate “not found” with released. The record may be outside VINE’s coverage, delayed, transferred, removed during its lifecycle, entered under another spelling, or tied to a different identifier.
The official Pawnee County web pages publish no online jail roster or release archive as of July 18, 2026. What a VINE Alert Means
A custody-change alert does not always mean release to the community. It may reflect transfer, court transport, escape, death, or another status. Save the exact wording and the facility name. Then ask Pawnee County Jail for the release type, departure timestamp, authority, destination, and any remaining hold.
